BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc. is a Japanese video game production and publishing company. Best known for their PAC-MAN franchise, the combined portfolio of games and toys has other big names too: Gundam, Tekken, Soulcalibur, Dark Souls come to mind, as do arcade hit titles Galaxian, Xevious and Bosconian.
BANDAI NAMCO is a 2006 merger of two of Japan's most prolific entertainment companies, Bandai and Namco. Before the merger, Namco excelled at the development and sales of video games, with Bandai making a splash in the toy business, especially through plastic building kits. At the time of the merger, Bandai was the fourth largest toy maker in the world, right after the LEGO group, Mattel and Hasbro.
