Written by veteran freelance video-game journalist Lewis Packwood, a contributor to EDGE and The Guardian, and author of 2023’s Curious Video Game Machines, the book goes behind the scenes to reveal how The Chinese Room carefully built the intriguing world of THE ART OF STILL WAKES THE DEEP, crafting a highly evocative vision of life in 1975. It explains the painstaking research that went into making the Beira D oil rig as realistic as possible, as well as the thinking behind the unknowable horror at the heart of the game.
