Diamond City
'Diamond City' is an official concept artwork used by Bethesda Game Studio's for Fallout 4. The image was made by Senior Concept Artist Adam Adamowicz. This limited edition Certified Art Giclee™ print is part of the official Fallout 4 fine art collection by Cook & Becker and Bethesda Softworks. The print is hand-numbered and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
The artistic design of the Fallout games would have been very different without the large body of work by the hand of Senior Concept Artist Adam Adamowicz (1968 – 2012). Responsible for most, if not all concept work on Fallout 3, and involved in the early stages of developing Fallout 4, Adamowicz defined the game’s post-apocalyptic aesthetic and the cinematic feel of the game world, dreaming up everything from environments to character models, and from vehicles to buildings. “I like to feel that is’t my job to instigate the [game design] process with a cool drawing that inspires everyone else [at Bethesda] into making something really cool”, he said in an interview.
This certainly is the case in his early concept sketch of the ‘Diamond City’-area, the first settlement the Fallout team worked on for Fallout 4. It’s a study of the style, color palette, and general vibe of the new area, a very loose and humorous sketch doodling with the possibilities of a freshly imagined environment.
